1. Commitment to Privacy

At Ghast Client, your privacy is our top priority. We believe in transparency and data minimization. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information under any circumstances.

2. Minecraft Authentication

Microsoft Account Security: Ghast Client uses Microsoft's official OAuth 2.0 flow for authentication. Your Microsoft password is never handled, viewed, or stored on our servers. All credentials and authentication tokens remain strictly local on your machine.

Authentication requests are communicated directly between your computer and Microsoft's secure authentication endpoints (`login.live.com`).

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

Ghast Client operates locally and does not engage in invasive tracking:

  • We do NOT collect keystrokes or chat logs.
  • We do NOT scan your personal files or directories outside your chosen Minecraft instance folders.
  • We do NOT collect private IP addresses or sell browsing telemetry.

4. Locally Stored Data

The client stores necessary configuration files locally on your computer to provide a personalized experience:

  • Launcher Profiles: Installed mods, selected Java versions, resolution preferences, and instance directories.
  • HUD Configuration: Dragged widget positions, custom colors, toggled indicators (FPS, CPS, Armor Status).
  • Cached Metadata: Modrinth / CurseForge mod descriptions and cached instance icons to speed up load times.

5. Website & Static Analytics

When you visit our website, basic, privacy-friendly static web logs may be collected by our CDN provider (Cloudflare) to protect against DDoS attacks and ensure global availability. These logs include standard HTTP headers, browser type, and country of origin.

6. Third-Party Services

Ghast Client integrates with selected third-party services to provide features:

  • Modrinth & CurseForge: Used when searching and downloading community mods or shaderpacks.
  • Discord RPC: Displays optional rich presence status (current server, game state) via Discord's local IPC socket.

Each third-party service operates under its own respective privacy policy.
